What is Ultrasonic Liposuction?

Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction (UAL) or Ultrasonic Liposuction leverages sound waves to reduce, remove, and eliminate fat cells or adipose tissue. The Sound Waves used during this plastic surgery procedure are aiding the surgeon, enabling more precise precise control of the cannula.

Benefits of Ultrasonic Liposuction Weight Loss Surgery:

The end result? Enhanced safety and fat removal, and a reduction of damage to other tissues including nerves, blood vessels and muscles; as well as decreased probability of blood loss, bruising and swelling during this weight loss surgery. Another advantages include tightening abilities and of the skin, which is far more pronounced when compared to traditional liposuction. This tends to be especially effective when there is excess skin.
Excess skin is something that is typically seen prior to liposuction weight loss surgery; as commonly present after pregnancy, or on patients prior to large scale weight loss surgery.

Origin of Ultrasound Assisted Lipoplasty

"Ultrasonic Liposuction, also known as "Ultrasound Assisted Lipoplasty" or "Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction" (UAL), first gain popularity in Europe in the early 1990's, and did not realize the same level of popularity in the United States Until approximately 1997. This efficacious liposuction technique uses sound waves (which are far beyond the frequency range that humans can hear) to assist in the removal of fatty tissue, which enable a qualified liposuction surgeon with more precision when using a cannula."

"A
cannula is a thin tube inserted into a vein or body cavity to administer medicine, drain off fluid, or insert a surgical instrument. This increases the overall safety of the procedure, and helps to reduce the potential for damage to other tissues, nerves, muscles, and blood vessels.
